THE BIG 3-0
Summer 2018 kicks off Memorial Day weekend at Wölffer Estate Vineyard, the sustainable Hamptons winery now celebrating its 30th anniversary. Wölffer was originally founded by Christian Wölffer and today is run by his children, Joey and Marc Wölffer along with winemaker + partner Roman Roth. To mark the occasion, Wölffer is adding a series of new products to their robust portfolio of wines that have achieved some of the highest accolades on the East Coast.
CIDER, PLEASE
No. 139 Dry Rosé cider and No. 139 Dry White cider are now available in cans that evoke the signature Wölffer bohemian aesthetic and are ideal for a summertime picnic or trip to the beach. Dessert apples grown in New York State, prized for their flavor and aromatics, are used to produce the category-leading ciders.
SEEING RED
On June 8th, Wölffer introduces a limited edition Claletto Cabernet Sauvignon 2014: a bold, premium red made Amarone-style, produced to mark outstanding vintages. Seventy-five bottles of the exclusive wine can be customized by an onsite calligrapher at the Estate and Vineyard on June 10th, making a perfect Father’s Day, host or hostess gift.
BEYOND SUMMER (IN A BOTTLE)
In addition to Wölffer’s iconic Summer in a Bottle Rosé, the portfolio includes other varieties to be enjoyed during summer. The White Horse collection is comprised of 11 food-friendly wines created with hand-harvested grapes aged to yield complex bottles with promising longevity, including the new Grandioso Rosé 2017 (available May 25th), Wölffer’s Perle Chardonnay 2016 and Caya Cabernet Franc 2015. Finca Wölffer Rosé 2017, a crisp wine made with grapes harvested from Wölffer’s vineyard in Mendoza, Argentina is also ideal for toasting the season.
SUMMER SURPRISES
Memorial Day weekend, visitors can expect fun floral surprises across all Wölffer properties as part of an ongoing partnership with FlowerSchool NY to celebrate the 30th anniversary, continuing the tradition of bringing delightful moments to visitors. Guests can also visit Wölffer’s newly renovated winery and tasting room overlooking the 55-acre Estate to enjoy tasting flights, ciders by the glass and an array of small plates. Meanwhile, Wölffer Wine Stand's live music weekend sunset series returns on May 25th with a performance by local band Hopefully Forgiven, and continues the following night with Lynn Blue. Additionally, Joey Wölffer has reimagined her Styliner mobile boutique as a children’s apparel pop-up shop at the Wine Stand, making it a destination for the whole family this summer.
