Thank you for chatting with us! Did you always want to be a musician or was there a specific moment that something happened that made you think & this is what I want to do with my life. If so, what was it? I’ve been singing since I was six because of my dad. He turned off the radio while I was singing in the backseat, and when he turned it back on, I was in the exact same place and key. That’s when he looked at me and said, “Did you know you could sing?” That moment started it all. At first, it was just something I loved doing, but when my dad unexpectedly got sick and later passed away, music became my outlet—it’s what kept me on a good path. Looking back, I’m so grateful for that moment and memory he gave me.
Looking back, what was the first album or “Vinyl” you bought? The first album I ever bought with my own money was Britney Spears’ …Baby One More Time. I remember saving up my lunch money and even having to borrow a dollar from a friend just so I could buy it. And funny enough, the first vinyl I ever bought for myself was also …Baby One More Time, which felt like such a perfect full-circle moment. Britney really was the moment back then—and honestly, still is!
What is one thing you can tell us that most people don’t know about you and
might surprise us? Totally not music or food related, but I am a huge Harry Potter nerd! I’ve read all the books and watched the movies more times than I could ever count. The Harry Potter collection just does such an amazing job of creating this imaginary world you can escape into. Like, if Hogwarts were real, know I’d be first in line for the Sorting Hat!
Where do you draw inspiration from when writing? Honestly, most of my inspiration right now comes from my partner. He completely came out of nowhere and has just made my life better in every way. So naturally, I’m in this phase of writing about love and all the good vibes that come with it. It’s a beautiful space to be in creatively.
Do you have any pre-show rituals? Haha, I wish I had a cool pre-show ritual, but honestly, mine is pretty basic. I usually don’t drink alcohol for at least 48 hours before a show, and I just focus on getting as much rest and hydration as possible. I’ve always been the type to put my performance first, so making sure I’m at my best always takes priority. Nothing too wild—just a lot of water and sleep!
Best food that comes in can? Margaret Holmes seasoned Italian green beans have completely changed the game for me when it comes to canned goods. I am not a canned food girlie at all—I will always choose fresh when I can, but my partner’s stepmom always makes these delish green beans that I swore she spent hours on, only to later find out they came straight from a can! Now, my stepson is absolutely obsessed with them, which definitely makes throwing together a quick dinner effortless!
Favorite music to listen to while you cook? Recently, I inherited my late father’s record collection, and every now and then, when I’m winding down at home, I love pouring a drink and putting on one of his albums that range from Teddy Pendergrass to Mariah Carey to Earth, Wind & Fire. In a way, it feels like I’m getting to know him through music.
What is your favorite wine? I think the real question is, what wine won’t I drink? Lol. Lately, I’ve been on a bit of a champagne kick (not sure why lol), and I’ve been trying all kinds of different champagnes, sparkling wines, and Proseccos. And I’m not gonna lie though, Barefoot kinda holds it down!
How do you drink your coffee? The coffee purists might not love this, but I’m definitely an “I’ll take some coffee with my creamer” kind of girl. Lately, I’ve been obsessed with Chobani’s Peppermint Mocha—it just makes every cup feel like Christmas!
Finally, if you could be sponsored by one food/drink brand who would it be and
why? Picking just one food/drink brand is impossible, but Pepsi commercials? Now that’s
legendary! They’ve been iconic for decades. Beyoncé, Britney, Pink…! I would love to have my own Pepsi moment and just live out my best rock star life.
