What is one Thanksgiving tradition you have?
My family usually changes who’s house we do Thanksgiving at every year, so an every year tradition is hard to maintain. I do remember one year my mom had everyone write down what they were thankful for and she made a scrapbook out of everyone’s notes. I like to take a look at it around this time of year when I go home just to see how things have changed. Does that count?
What is your favorite dish at the Thanksgiving table?
Oh, the ham for sure…and turkey…and gravy. Dang, now I’m hungry!
What is your favorite dish to cook? If you have the recipe handy, we'd love to share it.
I think if I tried to help cook on Thanksgiving, I’d be doing more harm than good! Haha!
Are you a turkey or ham eater?
On Thanksgiving, I’m an equal opportunity meat eater - Gonna throw down on both. Can’t wait!
What is your favorite Thanksgiving dessert?
My Mema makes the best banana bread - not specifically just for Thanksgiving, but I’m always praying for one to be there.
Where will you spend your Thanksgiving?
I’ll be at home this year, which I’m thankful for. My birthday actually falls on Thanksgiving this year too, so I get to hit both at once. (Shout out to any of y’all holiday kids…I feel your pain!)
How soon is too soon to start decorating for Christmas?
I think anything after Dec 1st is fair game. We need to let the holidays breathe, y’all. No more stepping on our Halloween or Thanksgiving!
Name three things you are thankful for this year.
I’ve been really blessed this year - it’s been a good one in most aspects of my life. I’m thankful I get to do what I love for a living, thankful my dad got to retire this year (proud of you, Dad!) and thankful for a great crew of friends and family. Couldn’t do what I do without ‘em.
The holiday season brings the best parties and time together with friends and family. What is your signature cocktail recipe that you will be drinking/serving?
I like to keep it simple and classic all year round. Jameson and Ginger is my go to.
