Warner Music Nashville and Sweety High sensation TEGAN MARIE is giving fans a behind-the-scenes peek into what Country means to her with new song, “I Don’t Know What Is,” available today (4/12).
Set in the “4-8-5-0-6,” her hometown of Flint, Michigan, "I Don’t Know What Is” highlights some of Tegan’s favorite things, including a vision of the genre that is increasingly inclusive. The 15-year-old Country phenom co-wrote the track alongside GRAMMY award-winner Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift), Nelly Joy and Jason Reeves.

Produced by hitmakers Scott Hendricks (Blake Shelton, Dan & Shay) and Chapman, and showcasing her undeniable “it factor,” the swampy track is making its debut across all digital streaming platforms today.
“I’m from Flint, Michigan, and even though we’re an hour from Detroit, our town is completely country,” shared Tegan with Radio Disney Country. “It’s a way of life, and we’re influenced by the city and the country, so I really wanted to write a song that shows what growing up there was all about. For my generation, I feel like we identify with those times and how lucky we are to be in this great country. ‘I Don’t Know What Is’ is also such a fun song to sing. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!”
Fans can catch her live when she hits the road later this month, opening a series of shows for HUNTER HAYES on his CLOSER TO YOU TOUR (see dates below).
