“Southern Rounds is not just any ordinary songwriter round,” shares Durrette. “We invite the biggest writers in Nashville and explain how each song came to be. Sometimes the stories are lighthearted and other times, they are quite emotional, but that’s what makes this series and Music City so special.”
“Southern Rounds is committed to supporting songwriters in a variety of ways,” shares Co-Founder Richard Blackstone of Blackstone Entertainment. “We recognized that some of our favorite musical performances were comprised of a group of writers sitting together, in an intimate setting, and having them do what they do best, tell stories that touch us in meaningful ways either making us laugh, remember the joy, or feel the pangs of heartbreak. They find the words that we often cannot describe the memorable moments in our lives. We saw an opportunity to shine a light on these extraordinary talents and are inspired to see them create these experiences in the beautiful room at the Analog.”
After live-streaming the series over the past few years, Southern Rounds founders Durrette and Richard Blackstone decided it was time to bring it to a live audience and nothing seemed like a better fit than Analog at The Hutton Hotel. Past guests include powerhouse hitmakers Jeffrey Steele, Lainey Wilson, Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), Sonia Leigh, Erin Enderlin, Phillip Lammonds, Marla Cannon-Goodman, Brent Cobb, Jonathan Singleton, Channing Wilson, Bobby Pinson, and more.

“Analog was specifically designed to be a premiere listening and showcase room and we strive to honor that care and thoughtfulness by partnering with the very best producers in all genres that represent the diverse musical communities here in music city,” said Hutton Hotel’s Meredith DiMenna. “Southern Rounds used COVID as an opportunity to build an incredible platform for highlighting the songwriters behind the hits of country music, which is really the fuel that powers so much of what Nashville has become. We are thrilled to partner with them to create a unique listening experience for our local listeners and visiting hotel guests.”
Durrette and Lowrey make up the new duo Yesterday’s Wine and are working on their second album due out later this fall. Together, they create a new memorable experience that combines hits from the past, present, and future.
About Southern Rounds:
Imagine a world without music, without songs. Through the growth of music streaming and a singles-based musical landscape, it has become more difficult to make a living as a songwriter. In 2019, we began an aggressive plan to put dozens of songwriters on the road each weekend, performing the fruits of their labor. We wanted to help keep them doing what they do best...writing, and now performing, their music. When COVID hit, we had to pivot and turned to online performances to showcase these great live performances. Southern Rounds took the tradition of Nashville’s songwriter rounds and created the FIRST weekly virtual “songwriters in the round” where, for one magical night, performers weave stories and songs into an immersive and entertaining experience. Curated and co-founded by award-winning hit songwriter Wyatt Durrette with Richard Blackstone, each show features the writers behind some of country music’s biggest acts including Zac Brown Band, Luke Combs, Jason Aldean, Little Big Town, Miranda Lambert, Rascal Flatts, George Strait, Blake Shelton and more. Southern Rounds is resuming its original plan of touring in venues across the US.
