What is one Thanksgiving tradition you have?

I am a HUGE Football guy! I love it so much that I am in my 4th season coaching High School Football. I grew up watching Brett Favre and every Thanksgiving the Packers would play the Lions and I was front and center! Even though he is retired, I still find myself wearing my old Favre jerseys on Thanksgiving.

Also, a couple years ago my friend Jill back home asked me to go Black Friday shopping with her, I think we’ve made it seven years straight on it. Even if we don’t need anything we go anyway just to keep the streak alive!

What is your favorite dish at the Thanksgiving table?

Hash brown casserole has been one of my favorites lately. We started having it a few years ago and it’s been a staple ever since. I eat so much of that one time my mom made 2 pans of it. One for me, and one for everyone else ha ha. One of the benefits of being an only child!

Are you a turkey or ham eater?

Turkey for sure! I do remember that we used to have a ham for a long time, but when we switched to turkey in middle school we haven’t looked back.

What is your favorite Thanksgiving dessert?

My grandmother lived with us for over 20 years and she used to make the best blueberry pie. It was one of her favorite things to make. We’d always bust it out in the afternoon after everyone recovered from lunch.

Where will you spend your Thanksgiving?

Back home in Jackson, Mississippi! I’ve been fortunate over the last few years that I’ve been able to go home for almost the whole week of Thanksgiving. It’s one of my favorite times of year.

How soon is too soon to start decorating for Christmas?

NEVER! I actually have mine up right now ha ha. I put them up right at the end of September. I can totally see the judgment of my neighbors when they walk past and see my Christmas lights from the window.

Name three things you are thankful for this year.

My family, my work, my health; I hope that all of this continues throughout next year as well.

ABOUT PATRICK CARPENTER:

Patrick Carpenter is a guitar slinger and singer/songwriter from Jackson, Mississippi. Inspired by the legendary guitar players that came before him such as Richie Sambora, Eddie Van Halen, and Brad Paisley, he began playing guitar at age 11. After years of playing in bands around Mississippi, he moved to Nashville in 2014 to pursue his dream of an entertainer. Quickly, he was picked up as the lead guitar player for several acts around town starting in 2016. After playing festivals, writer nights and many shows on Broadway, Patrick decided to finally begin pursuing as a solo act in 2018. Blurring the lines of traditional Country, 80's arena rock and mainstream pop, Patrick has found his voice and sound that is vintage, yet modern. He is currently enrolled to receive his Masters of Education in 2020 while serving as Assistant Football Coach at Lipscomb Academy.
