Pet Community Center’s Fundraiser Offers Alternative Valentine’s Day Plans for Pet Lovers
All proceeds from “My Furry Valentine” will benefit Pet Community Center’s life-saving work
Pet Community Center (PCC) of Nashville will host its 2nd Annual My Furry Valentine on February 14, 2020. Skip the crowded restaurants and enjoy dinner for two delivered right to your door by Pet Community Center staff and volunteers. My Furry Valentine is the organization's only event supporters can enjoy from the comfort of their own homes.
Pet Community Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the human-animal bond through accessible veterinary care and support services. Since 2011, Pet Community Center has served more than 80,000 animals by assisting the public with free and low-cost spay/neuter services and low-cost preventive veterinary services. In 2019 alone, PCC spayed/neutered 7,726 animals and provided care for 13,693 wellness patients. In large part because of the targeted spay/neuter services provided by PCC, the euthanasia rate at Metro Animal Care and Control has dropped from more than 80% in 2011 to less than 10% in 2020.
Donors can participate in My Furry Valentine by purchasing Valentine’s Day packages for $100 each.Every package includes an entrée for two catered by Flavor Catering and Special Occasions. Recipients have the choice between two entrées: roasted rosemary chicken or eggplant roulade with tomato coulis. Each entrée comes with roasted parsnips, sweet potatoes, red potatoes, and sweet yellow onions; haricot verts with cremini mushrooms; and dinner rolls.
In addition to dinner, supporters will receive gifts and coupons such as a $25 gift card to Tiff's Treats, a voucher for a free bundtlet at Nothing Bundt Cakes, and a coupon for $5 off your next two deliveries from Postmates. For pets, the packages will include treats and toys from Mars Petcare, Mutts and Meows, and Wags and Whiskers.
Pet Community Center's team will deliver the packages to supporters' doorsteps on Valentine’s Day between 3:00 pm - 6:00 pm. Recipients also have the option to pick up their packages at Sparkworks Union in East Nashville (935 East Trinity Lane, Nashville, TN 37207) from 10:00 am - 6:00 pm or at Bank of Tennessee in Green Hills (2201 Crestmoor Road #1, Nashville, TN 37215) from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm.
Additionally, supporters have the option to donate packages to some of Pet Community Center's most at-risk clients who benefit from PCC’s Pets for Life Program. The Pets for Life program serves people and pets isolated from pet service providers by increasing access to resources and information. Through the program, Pet Community Center provides free spay/neuter services, wellness care, pet supplies, and transport support for residents in the focus area of North Nashville.
