WELCOME TO WEHO Pacifique is now open in West Hollywood’s Design District. The restaurant showcases veteran Los Angeles chef Joe Miller (Joe’s) and chef de cuisine Danielle Sobel’s (NYC’s Juku Izakaya) nuanced take on California cuisine with Japanese influences, and is a collaboration with Joel Herzer and partners Tom Buttgenbach and Sean Leffers.
ON THE MENU Pacifique’s menu reveals a seamless union of California and Japanese flavors through plates such as Chawanmushi (egg custard) and Scallop and Sea Urchin. Larger dishes include Chicken Tsukune with duck prosciutto and blood orange, and Pork Loin with inaniwa udon and broccoli rabe. Pastry chef Eliot Pardo similarly seeks inspiration from SoCal’s seasonal bounty with desserts that include a Yuzu Meringue Tart and Coconut Panna Cotta. Feisser Stone and Zachariah Parks (Barlingual) oversee the beverage program, serving reimagined takes on classic cocktails, as well as a curated “Bottle Service” that pairs offerings such as single cask whiskies with bites from the kitchen. STYLE ICON Designed by partner Sean Leffers (Sean Leffers Interiors), the space features pieces and textiles from local designers such as Kelly Wearstler and Rose Tarlow. Luxurious grey and lavender fabrics bring warmth and elegance to the walls and booths of the main dining room, creating a sophisticated setting for a meal or drink. An adjacent dining room features discrete booths inspired by private dining in Japanese izakayas, while a front enclosed patio ensconced in Kangaroo ferns is an inviting setting for gatherings.
