Louie’s Wine Dive hosted a MidSummer Rosé wine tasting last week in Nashville. It was such a wonderful experience enjoying Rosé in many different styles from around the world with new friends and tasty foods! With eight 2-ounce tasting portions of wine, everyone got to try different styles from several regions, vote on the best, and end with one final glass of their favorite wine.
A selection of delicious finger foods that compliment Rosé were also served.
Louie's Wine Dive in-house wine professionals helped answer any questions we had.
Winemakers from across the globe have been producing “pink wine” for centuries from red grapes by allowing the grape skins to steep in the juice. The skins are left in the fresh juice for just a matter of hours to impart flavor and beautiful colors ranging from pale salmon to bright watermelon and fuchsia. In Provence, you will find pale pink floral rose. In the hot Rioja region, you’ll find watermelon red, spicy rose. Even the beloved Cabernet Sauvignon grape can be used in rose to make a bolder version that is perfect with any backyard grilling you do. There is a crisp, refreshing rose style for almost any summer fare.
Everyone in attendance had a blast trying the eight different tasting portions of Rosé and being the judge of the favorite. The winning wine is now up on their Wine Board showcased as the champion — so make sure you go and see who won!!!
