Americans consume about 4.5 billion tacos per year and there’s no better day to enjoy the yummy dish than Cinco de Mayo. But instead of using the same old beef or chicken as protein, people can use Safe Catch tuna as it is adaptable to a variety of flavor profiles and is a great source of protein and vitamins.
INGREDIENTS:
1 Can Safe Catch Elite Wild Tuna
3 Tbsp of Sour Cream (or enough to make it creamy)
1 Lime wedge
1 Tbsp Taco Seasoning
Yellow Corn Tortillas
Mexican Shredded Cheddar Cheese
Cooking Spray
OTHER OPTIONS:
Chopped jalapeños
Avocado
Salsa
Hot Sauce
Queso Sauce
INSTRUCTIONS
Open a can of Safe Catch Elite Wild Tuna (drain), flake with a fork and empty into a mixing bowl
Add sour cream, a squeeze of lime, and taco seasoning. Mix well
Place into a tortilla (for us one can of tuna made three taquitos) and top with shredded cheese (and a few chopped jalapeños if you would like)
Roll up and if needed use a tooth pick to keep it closed. Spray with cooking spray
Place in air fryer on 400 degrees for about ten minutes or until they start to brown and crisp
Carefully remove and top with queso sauce, hot sauce, or dip into guac and salsa!
