Rising Country Artist Curt Chambers dropped his much anticipated ep "Dirty South" today on all digital and streaming platforms. Click for Download and Streaming Links.
Curt Chambers takes his country and hip hop fans on a journey with his new ep, inspired by Route 85 South a road he has traveled often during his music career. From Philadelphia to North Carolina to Tennessee this road has led him to become one of the most multi-faceted artists on the country music scene. He wears many hats in the music industry collaborating, writing and cultivating his sounds, most recently with the legendary David Lee Murphy. 85 South is the stamp on long run of successful single releases including "Roll With It" which premiered in Billboard and his latest single "Different Views" which garnered him a feature in People Magazine. Curt Chambers is not someone who will walk the line, much like Johnny Cash, he is a modern day Highway Man who is willing to create county music that pushes our comfort zone boundaries.
"I wanted to make something that brings my hip hop fan base together with my country music fan base. I can get down with this because it sound familiar and comfortable. I wanted to create something different then what I have put out, I wanted to go against the grain. I didn't want to be safe, I wanted to be authentic to who I am. It is not overproduced.. some 808's with some guitar." - Curt Chambers The single "Dirty South" sports a lyric "Girl in LA how she lights up when she hears George Jones" highlights Chambers natural ability to excite the most committed pop or hip hop fan to his music. The overall concept of the album is "trap meets country." It is a bit edgy much like the road he has traveled on 85 South singing and rapping the songs of Conway Twitty and Biggie Smalls (My Radio). He effortlessly weaves a blended musicality that brings together some of the influencers that he has celebrated from Dre, Eminem, Biggie to Alan Jackson, George Jones and Conway Twitty. This ep is pure genius. It will make you stop and listen because while his lyrics are clever and historical in nature his delivery is addictive. Chambers says "Stetsons and my Jordans is a new concept in the style of my. music." The most remarkable aspect of this ep is that Chambers self produced the project. He literally locked himself in his studio and did not come up for air until he was finished. Curt ends his ep with Smoke Break giving his listeners an opportunity to bask in the sounds of his well crafted and legendary guitar skills. It is truly an orchestration of greatness much like the satisfaction you get when traveling 85 South and arriving at your destination.
