Is this your first CMA fest? What are you looking forward to?
This is my second CMA fest, but I am excited because every year we are getting more and more stuff to do. So I am very excited. I am going to Ascend both nights to see Cole Swindell, Morgan Evans, and Maddie and Tae whom I love.
Since every song has a story, what’s the story behind your new song coming out soon, “Boys Like You?”
“Boys like you,” is a song I wrote when I was sitting and thinking about how I always seem to like the bad boys and its so annoying! It just so happened at the same time my co-writer Adam Scott said, "I have a good title, 'boys like girls like boys like you,' and I immediately said I didn't like it. Then he talked me into it and we ended up writing it together with duo, SixForty1. It was such a good write and ended up being my next single. So, it is basically just about my life. It will be coming out soon!
What excites you most about the Nashville music scene right now?
Everything. Just seeing all types of artists and doing awesome local things like Whiskey Jam. You get to see not just country artists, but rock, and metal. So that is what's so cool about Nashville. It is becoming such a melting pot.
Of course we love your style, any favorite Nashville shops?
Blush is my favorite. A lot of the time I just go to Macy’s, Nordstrom, and Off Saks and 5th to get some really good deals.
Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?
Flare Pants. Like a really big flare. We just watched Runaway June last night and they rocked them! Also the bishop sleeve blouses.
How many pairs of shoes do you own?
They will not even fit in my closet. In my bedroom I had to make shelves up the wall because I have no more room in my closet. There are so many. A lot of them I don't even wear anymore. They are just sitting there just in case I need them. haha I can't throw them out.
What is your favorite Southern expression?
It’s so cliche but, “Bless Your Heart.”
Finally, if you could be sponsored by one food/drink brand who would it be and why?
I would say Busch Light because of my last single. But probably LaCroix or a Kombucha brand.
