Growing up in the small town of Monterey, Tennessee, and since moving to Nashville, have you seen your perspective or music draw inspiration from the music scene here?
I like to think everything around me, no matter where I am, gives me inspiration and perspective. Being in Nashville there is always an opportunity to go out and find someone who can inspire you with their music, so that is definitely my favorite thing about living in Nashville.
What instruments do you play?
I don’t play any instruments well enough to perform with them, but the thing I have focused on my whole life is being a vocalist and always learning better techniques on how to sing stronger and never harm my voice.
In your new single, "One More Minute," it talks about begging for forgiveness from the one you love, which almost everyone can relate to at some point in their life. Did this song come from any personal experiences?
It comes from many experiences and many aspects from life, but what I felt was most important in the song is forgiveness. I think it is so important to forgive others for your own happiness and for other people as well.
Can you discuss more about finding this song?
I actually worked with some publishers and found this song through them and the groove of the song really stuck out to me and I knew I had to record it from the first time I heard it.
Are you currently working on a full album?
Currently no, I am not working on a full length album. Once I create a full-length album I want to make sure it is the best music I can put out.
Who is your hero?
I’m not really sure I have a “Hero” per say, but someone I definitely look up to and admire is David Phelps. He is someone who I’ve always listened to and learned from while I was growing up. His voice is incredible and anytime he sings I am just completely amazed.
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I’m not too picky as to what I would have as my only meal forever, but I know for sure it would be something Mexican as long as it came with chips and salsa.
If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be?
The four people I would love to sit down and have a meal with would be David Phelps, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, and Brandi Carlile.
Finally, if you could be sponsored by one food/drink brand who would it be and why?
Well, my favorite snack food of all time is oatmeal crème pies. So that would probably have to be my choice!
