In celebration of National Bourbon Heritage Month (September 1 – 30, 2019), Marsh House and L.A. Jackson at Thompson Nashville are featuring their new Private Select barrels of Maker’s Mark, created by the bar team this summer in Louisville, Kentucky. In addition, they designed specialty craft cocktails to highlight the unique flavor profile of the exclusive bourbon, and they will run these new cocktails as a special all month long.

After Marsh House and L.A. Jackson bartenders spent several days at the renowned distillery selecting 10 custom wood finishing staves to create a singular taste profile, the distillery aged the bourbon in a limestone cellar for 9 weeks. The finished product is Private Select Maker’s Mark – a customized barrel of the signature bourbon.

According to Sally Gatza, lead bartender of wildly-popular rooftop bar L.A. Jackson, “The experience at Maker’s Mark was incredible. It was really interesting to be a part of the process and selecting wooden staves to create our own expression of Maker’s Mark. The taste profile is quite unique, yet undeniably Maker’s. We’re excited for our guests to try it.”

At L.A. Jackson, imbibers can enjoy pours from the bar’s Private Select barrel, as well as the specialty cocktail Overall A Good Time. Named after the day in Kentucky where the whole bar team wore overalls, the drink features Private Select Maker’s Mark, Lillet Rouge, cinnamon, pineapple liqueur and ango. The creative libation is priced at $18 and is available throughout September.

Downstairs at Marsh House – The Gulch’s go-to dining destination for elevated Southern fare and seafood – guests can experience the Pennypacker, named after one of Kramer’s aliases in the hit TV show Seinfeld. The creative cocktail features Private Select Maker’s Mark, Campari, and Lillet Rouge infused with cacao and árbol chili, served up in a chilled coupe glass. The Pennypacker is available for $18 throughout the month of September.

L.A. Jackson and Marsh House are located at Thompson Nashville, 401 11th Ave S. in The Gulch area of Nashville.
