Poke Shooters Take the Prize with Tasting Tent Favorite Created by Chefs Seven Chan & Kevin Yu of Poke Burri

The eighth annual Atlanta Food & Wine Festival is pleased to announce 2018 Chefs Seven Chan & Ken Yu as this year’s winner of the PNC Bank “Best of the Fest” competition. The dynamic duo wowed the crowd with salmon and tuna poke shooters and tempura fried bacon with butter syrup. Poke Burri is located in East Atlanta Village in Atlanta and has recently opened a new location in Raleigh, NC.

“Congratulations to the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival for curating another phenomenal selection of culinary talent and mixologists for festivalgoers to enjoy this year,” said Eddie Meyers, PNC regional president for Greater Georgia. “This collaboration brings an engaging cultural experience to the Atlanta community and celebrates the artistry of local chefs such as this year’s winner, Chefs Seven and Ken!”

“We are so excited to win this honor,” said Chef Seven Chan. “We are so humbled to have worked with this elite caliber of chefs. Coming in as the underdog, our ultimate goal was to make the crowd happy and enjoy ourselves. We never expected this.”

Some of delicious themes at this year’s Tasting Tents included Improbable Pairs, an exploration of unexpected wine, beer, cocktail and food pairings; Palate Pleasers, a flavor-driven sampling experience; and Ingredient Spotlight, a showcase of the region’s quintessential ingredients. Nearly 100 food and beverage booths allowed guests the ultimate all-you-can-indulge experience. “Joining with PNC Bank to celebrate the best bite from the Festival’s Tasting Tents has once again been a great experience,” said Festival Co-Founder Dominique Love. “We have so many talented participants in the Tasting Tents each and every year, and it is wonderful to show them that their hard work is celebrated and rewarded by the Festival-goers. Everyone truly outdid themselves with their dishes and themes this year.”
